4dr4 is a new organization of racers. We are developing 4-door 4-cylinder front-wheel-drive race cars, with an emphasis on affordable fun.
The following vehicle and engine combinations are being considered for competition:
• Ford Focus (2000-2004) 4-door sedan with a 2.3L Duratec engine
• Ford Focus (2005-2007) 4-door sedan with a 2.3L Duratec engine
• Chevrolet Cavalier (1995-2005) 4-door sedan with a 2.2L Ecotec engine
• Pontiac Sunfire (1995-2005) 4-door sedan with a 2.2L Ecotec engine
• Dodge Neon (1995-1999) 4-door sedan with a 2.4L PowerTech engine
• Dodge Neon (2000-2005) 4-door sedan with a 2.4L PowerTech engine
• Honda Civic (1996-2000) 4-door sedan with a 2.0L K20A3 engine
• Honda Civic (2001-2005) 4-door sedan with a 2.0L K20A3 engine
Detailed instructions for construction of the project cars will be available here for everyone to use. This will include the sources for all of the parts and the results that they achieve.
Rules will be minimal but strictly enforced. The purpose of the rules is to ensure that all vehicles are constructed and modified within clearly established limits, to ensure a fair and safe competition. These rules are intended to maximize the vehicle performance at reasonably low cost without neglecting the safety of the participants and spectators.
